Providence Public Library (PPL) and the Rhode Island Historical Society (RIHS) have announced that the first batch of Rhode Island's historic newspapers digitized through a National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) grant are now freely available for researchers via the Library of Congress' Chronicling America site. Staff report A South Padre Island resident's stolen golf cart has been returned, after a camera caught two suspects during the incident. LaDawn Simpson posted in a local Facebook group, South Padre Island Concierge, that their golf cart had been stolen, posting the entire incident from a camera mounted to the golf cart's frame The Norwich Packet was begun by Alexander and James Robertson and John Trumbull. The original title was the Norwich Packet, And the Connecticut, Massachusetts, New-Hampshire, and Rhode-Island Weekly Advertiser. The Library's collections offer a wealth of resources to the Australian family historian.
